The city was burning.
Ash fell from the heavens like snow.
Women and children pleaded for their husbands and fathers who would never return.
Sky scrappers had been reduced to dust.
Cars hung off buildings like coats on a hanger.
And all the while, he stood there.
He watched.
He had watched it all.
He tried to help, he tried to be a hero.
But alas it was in vain, for he was no hero.
The beast, the monster was too strong.
Its rage too powerful.
Or maybe it was that he was too weak.
He fought with all his little might.
He screamed, he begged it to stop.
But it couldn't.
It wouldn't.
So he watched.
He watched himself transform.
He watched as his body morphed into the unholy beast he really was.
The freak.
The monster.
He watched as he destroyed that city.
And just as the heavens had cried with ash upon that still burning city.
He cried tears of pain along with it.
He was the monster.
The monster was man.

Monster
I don't believe in me, said Monster,
or in the things I've created.
Upon heaps of words I sit, but understanding...
well, it's always much farther away than I thought.
In the dark passages of time, my hands find only blank space,
an open mouth.
I've fallen into nothingness.
Lethe pours through my fingers like ruddy ink.
I can't dream and I grieve.
I feel oblivion on my breath.
Acrid and salty,
a reaper's shadow on my bones.
Speak to me, please,
before it devours me.

Trust Me
The one thing Pepper Potts prided herself on was the fact that she could stay cool under pressure.
But when she became Tony Stark's personal assistant (and later the CEO of Stark Industries all together), she quickly discovered that her ability to stay calm would have to stretch beyond the boundaries of office work and board meetings.
She had to pretend she wasn't scared when Stark's long time business partner decided to go on a murderous rampage. She had to be non-challant about her boyfriend almost dying from his heart condition
or a rival trying to kill him on a race track
or an army of suits coming after him
Oh, and eve

Monster
Trapped here inside a cage.
Mind filled with so much rage.
Trying everything to break free.
You're just pretending to be me.
I was here all along.
You're the one that is wrong.
I'm not what you want me to be,
So you drive me to this insanity.
I savor every freedom I get.
More will come just yet.
You know I'm not one to control.
Holding me back has taken a toll.
You're afraid of what I'll do,
But the real monster here is you.

So for some odd reason my mind has been wrapped around Bruce Banner ( and yes hulk too ), and suddenly I got the urge to write this. I hope its not too bad but I wanted to put a lot of detail into the little things and also try to fill it to the brim with emotion, or at least i tried. Please tell me what you think!

i don't think Hulk is truly to blame for his rampages
mankind struck the first blow against him and since them it's been one big retaliation every time humanity tries to destroy him
